Pre-Use Inspections of Equipment
A variety of equipment is used on every job site, and regular inspections can ensure that everyone working with or around them is safe. Today’s Safety Saturday moment focuses on pre-use inspections.
A pre-use inspection is done to ensure that the piece of equipment is operating safely and correctly. When going over these pre-use inspections, it can be handy to have a checklist to ensure you are inspecting the equipment thoroughly and to catch any issues before they become a bigger problem. A pre-use inspection can determine if a piece of equipment needs to be immediately removed from service, requires basic maintenance, or will need servicing done in the near future. Regular documentation ensures that the equipment continues to run the way it should and that everyone on-site works safely.
Until next time, from all of us at the W. L. French Safety Department, stay safe out there.
