Responding to a Spill

Even with proper assessments and protections, spills can and may still occur on a construction site. Today’s Safety Saturday moment discusses how to respond to a spill.

From slips and trips to burns and scalds, spills pose a risk to people and the environment nearby- which is why it’s important to have a plan in place to help mitigate the impact. Here are 4 basic steps when dealing with a spill.

  1. Notify those around you that the spill occurred
  2. Control the spill
  3. Contain the spill
  4. Once the spill is contained, the cleanup process can begin

Until next time, from all of us at the W. L. French Safety Department, stay safe out there.
