Safety Saturday

Hearing Protection

We hope you had a happy and healthy Christmas yesterday! We took our regularly scheduled Safety Saturday off to celebrate the holiday, and today we’re back to discuss the importance of proper hearing protection.

Loud noises are a common part of any construction site, but they are also dangerous when proper precautions aren’t taken. High noise levels can cause temporary or permanent hearing loss, ringing in the ears, and an inability to hear audible warning signals when on site, as well as cause stress, lack of concentration, and headaches. Workplace noise levels should be monitored constantly, and PPE must be worn when noise hazards cannot be eliminated.

Until next time, from all of us at the W. L. French Safety Department, stay safe out there.
