Unsafe Acts and Conditions
Accidents are caused by unsafe acts or unsafe conditions, and both of these can be prevented. Today’s Safety Saturday moment goes over correcting unsafe acts and conditions.
Incident analysis tells us that most accidents are caused by human factors. An unsafe act is a choice made by a worker, who may or may not know it’s unsafe. An unsafe condition can vary from an unprotected excavation to an improperly labeled container. It’s important for everyone working to understand the importance of safety procedures and to watch for hazards around them.
Until next time, from all of us at the W. L. French Safety Department, stay safe out there.
