Four Seconds for Safety
Though you may feel like you know a certain task like the back of your hand, taking a few seconds to ensure you’re working safely each time is crucial to the job site. Today’s Safety Saturday moment goes over the importance of taking four seconds for safety.
Working in construction, it’s easy to fall into complacency while working on the same tasks over and over again. What you should keep in mind is that conditions and environment change daily, so examine the area for any changes you might not have noticed during pre-task analysis. Before starting work, take four seconds for a safety reset and to get focused on the job at hand. During these four seconds, consider steps to take for the safety of you and everyone around you. It may be a short amount of time, but it can make a world of difference.
Until next time, from all of us at the W. L. French Safety Department, stay safe out there.
