Temporary Traffic Control

A well-thought-out traffic plan when performing roadway construction will help protect workers and keep traffic moving. Today’s Safety Saturday moment discusses temporary traffic control during road work.

The goal of creating a temporary traffic pattern is to choose one that keeps disruptions to a minimum for drivers, bikers, and pedestrians. Use devices like cones, barrels, signs, and light boards, and inspect them regularly to ensure everything is working properly to catch the attention of motorists. High visibility and reflective clothing must be worn by all who are working. When safe routes are created and workers are visible, road work can be completed safely.

Until next time, from all of us at the W. L. French Safety Department, stay safe out there.
