Safety Saturday

Caution Tape vs. Danger Tape

Construction tape is just one of the many means of communication on job sites. Today’s Safety Saturday moment discusses the difference between caution and danger tape.

Tape is used to communicate danger and limited access to work areas and their risk level. Yellow is caution tape, which means an area has a lower risk of safety and health concerns. Enter with caution unless the tape indicates otherwise. Red is danger tape, which means high-risk safety and health concerns are present. Workers should never enter without permission from a supervisor. Knowing the differences between these two tapes will help elevate the safety of all on-site.

Until next time, from all of us at the W. L. French Safety Department, stay safe out there.
