Suspended Loads
Loads can be suspended by any machine that can support their weight, but this becomes increasingly dangerous as the loads get heavier. This week’s Safety Saturday focuses on working safely with suspended loads.
Before lifting any loads, make sure your equipment has a high enough safety rating to manage the load. In addition, inspect the equipment and rigging to ensure everything looks and works properly. Even if everything is working to support the load properly, never move beneath the suspended load and always look out for others as they work.
Until next week, from all of us at the W. L. French Safety Department, stay safe out there.
