Extension Ladders
Extension ladders are commonly used tools on construction sites, meaning it’s important to know how to safely use them to reduce the risks whenever they’re brought out. This week’s Safety Saturday shares the tips of working with extension ladders.
Before using the ladder, you should always inspect it and make sure it is in one piece and is working as it should. Place your extension ladder at a safe angle and when climbing, maintain three points of contact with the ladder at all times. Never extend yourself off of the ladder if you can’t quite reach something- instead, get off and move the ladder.
Until next week, from all of us at the W. L. French Safety Department, stay safe out there.
