Fire Prevention
Construction jobsites are some of the highest risk places for fires, so taking precautions must always be a priority when onsite. This week’s Safety Saturday focuses on fire prevention.
Because of the factors that make up working on site in construction, fires and explosions are a big risk of working onsite. One important way to prevent fires is knowing how to operate a fire extinguisher.
When using, remember the acronym P.A.S.S.: Pull the pin, Aim towards the base of the fire, Squeeze the lever, and Sweep side to side. Knowing the correct way to use a fire extinguisher will mean everyone on site is better prepared in the event of a fire.
Until next week, from all of us at the W. L. French Safety Department, stay safe out there.
